Mon May 10

Depart from Pearson International Airport, Toronto for your overnight flight to Madrid.  Dinner and breakfast served on flight.

Tues May 11

Arrive in Madrid and transfer to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

May 12

We leave Madrid and travel to Avila, Spain.  Avila is important because of its association with the great mystic and reformer St. Teresa de Jesus, better known as St. Teresa of Avila. Teresa was a 16th-century Carmelite nun who reformed her order, had many ecstatic visions, and wrote several books. She is the female patron saint of Spain and was the first woman to be named a Doctor of the Church. We will visit the Convento de Santa Teresa (Convent of St. Teresa), a convent contains her relics, and the Monasterio de la Encarnacion, where St. Teresa lived and where her cell can be visited.  After our visit we will continue our journey to Fatima.  Dinner and overnight

Thurs May 13

Today we will attend the International Holy Mass in honor of the first apparition of Our Lady to three children (Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco) on May 13, 1917.  You may use the remainder of the day at your leisure.  Dinner and overnight

Fri May 14

After breakfast we will travel to Aljustrel, Portugal the birthplace of Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco.  You will be able to see the homes where the children lived.  After our visit we will return to Fatima for dinner and overnight.

Sat May 15

Today we leave Fatima and travel thru Salamanca, Spain where we will visit the New Cathedral of Salamanca.  It was started in 1512 to help stabilize the deteriorating Old Cathedral (built from1200's to 1300's AD). Today, the New Cathedral is your only entrance to the connecting old, Romanesque, Cathedral Vieja.  From Salamanca we will continue our journey to Burgos, Spain.  Dinner and overnight

Sun May 16

This morning we will visit the Burgos Cathedral which is a Gothic-style cathedral.  It is dedicated to the Virgin Mary and is famous for its vast size and unique architecture. Its construction began in 1221, following French Gothic parameters.  From Burgos we travel to Garabandal, a small village in northern Spain where Our Lady allegedly appeared to four young girls from October 1961 until June 1965.  Dinner and overnight either in Garabandal or a hotel close by.

Mon May 17

After breakfast we will leave for Lourdes arriving in the late afternoon.  In the evening, you may wish to join in the beautiful “Candlelight Procession” to honor Our Lady.   Dinner and overnight

 

Tues

May 18

Spend the day in Lourdes.  We will visit the Basilica and the Grotto where Our Lady appeared to St. Bernadette, the baths and the home of St. Bernadette.  Dinner and overnight

May 21

After breakfast we will leave Lourdes and travel to Blois or Tours, France.  Dinner and overnight

This morning we will continue our travel to Paris.  Dinner and overnight

This morning we will transfer from our hotel to Charles De Gaulle Airport for our flight back to the USA.
